Yes, it is nearly time to move into our new office! It seems like only last week...well actually, it doesn't, it definitely felt like a whole year when our office was transformed from Guernsey's premiere web design location into one of the most comprehensively renovated buildings on the Island!
It's been long, it's been cold, it's been drafty and at times it has been a bit risky but the main thing to remember is that we are nearly there, in our shiny new office 2.0!
It all started last July, when our office looked like this:

We had just shuffled into our office chairs when the landlord decided that the building should be re-built, all around us. Since then it has been an adventure to say the least. We have made friends with the builders and tradesmen we have worked alongside (never thought I would be working alongside builders when I became a web designer), we have seen the sky...from the space where the roof used to be and we have learned to block out the sound of constant hammers and saws.
So, 'what do you do when your office is being torn apart around you?', I hear you ask. Well, it's simple really, you unplug all of your iMacs and you move upstairs into a half finished flat. For the last few months the Indulge web design team has been living in a small, top floor flat. Complete with views of the building site garden and a bath tub in the meeting room, it has certainly been a change to proceedings.
One problem with working on the top floor of a building that was in the middle of being gutted is that getting in wasn't always as simple as you may hope. It is lucky my balancing skills are as good as they are:

...and look at this trench, it's like being on the front line!

Our web developer, Andy has also had a brush with danger when he visited the bathroom a few months ago, "Hearing something heavy land directly above your head (and I mean DIRECTLY) is not the most comforting sound, but when that object sends a shockwave down through the walls that makes the floor shake and the lights flicker... well... there's nothing else quite like that."
The exhilarating moment had glasses of water trembling like scenes from Jurassic Park, and mere moments later a shady figure shuffled down the stairs to reclaim the skydiving metal instrument that had caused all of the excitement.
In-between all of the flying object dodging, chatting with builders and working in what will soon be someones living room we have been able to continue to work hard to create some of our best web design and digital marketing work to date and now, we are only weeks away from moving into our new office. Since we have been gone, the team has also more than doubled in size, with 4 full time members of staff and a summer student web designer.
So, it is all change here at Indulge Media, and needless to say we are all looking forward to moving into the new office, and hopefully this time flying objects won't be an issue, not unless someone gets on my nerves that is!
Here are a few of our other favourite pics from the last few months:
Don't look down!

Ah, a much need break for our builder buddies:

A view into the basement!

The end is in sight!

Part 2 coming soon!
