Tubemap.com is an established website used as a resource for both the London Underground system as well as other world underground train systems. The website was well overdue an overhaul and this is where Indulge Media come in.
Indulge Media's Guernsey web design and development team were approached by the owner of Tubemap.com who was keen to give the site a complete re-brand, new design and direction to take the website into a new era. The breif for the site was simple: it must first and foremost be useful as map resource, primarily for the city of London, secondly the site must act as a hub of information for visitors to London.
With the brief in mind, the Indulge Guernsey Web Design team set about creating a new brand image for Tubemap.com. This work was centered around a new logo which would make Tubemap.com an easily recognisable resource for residents and visitors to London. Once the branding was complete, the Guernsey Web Design team created a design for a site that was both ambitious and functional.
The core part of the web design focused on a main map area which consisted of a map module which combined an underground train map alongside an overground city map. A core requirement of the map module was the ability to sync the maps together to allow users to plan their journey on and off the train.
The project was handed over the Guernsey Web Development team who worked to create a system which would allow for the design and intention to be realised with an easy to use and robust user interface. Completing the project using a content management system means that the client can log into the site and update content easily without the need for any technical knowledge making this site a truly modern solution to an age old problem; travel.
